WHAT IS ANEA

Logo anea ANEA, The Naples Agency for Energy and the Environment, is an independent, non-profit organisation aiming to promote the rational use of energy, renewable energy sources and sustainable mobility.

The ANEA agency is a consortium formed by different partners representing the most important players involved in energy and mobility fields: Municipality of Napoli, Mass transport companies, Energy, Gas and Water producer and distributor companies, local industrialists association, consumer association. It is a non profit organisation owned by public authority and private organisations.

The agency has its own management board in which each partner is represented. The chairman of the management board is the local elected officer (Chairman of the Environment) since the Municipality of Napoli is the most important partner involved in agency's structure.

ANEA belongs to several organisations and groups involved in the energy saving field, enhancing its capability to exchange know-how and circulate information. Main organisations with ANEA participation are:

  • Energie-Cités, the European network of SAVE Agencies
  • RENAEL, the Italian network of local energy Agencies. In this organisation ANEA is in charge for promotion of experience exchange and know-how transfer among the partners.
  • Italian Kyoto Club
  • Euromobility, the Italian Mobility Manager association
  • FIRE, the Italian Energy Manager association
  • ISES, solar energy Italian company

ANEA after six years of activities has obtained in the metropolitan area of Naples the acknowledgement for its primary role in promoting energy savings and sustainable mobility.

The agency represents a reference point for local authorities, energy producers and energy distributors companies, public mass transport companies, enterprises, interest groups, public associations and citizens, as the organisation able to provide information and support on specific projects, to help municipality on enforcement of national laws, to monitor energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and to promote actions.
Since its creation the agency has had a positive impact on employment, information, advise, awareness raising, training and monitoring of energy activities.

TASKS

The main activities of ANEA are information, training, applied research and technical assistance for citizens, SMEs and public administration. Its aim is to develop innovative actions in the energy and mobility sector. The main fields of activity of ANEA are:

  • Sustainable mobility;
  • Rational use of energy in buildings and equipment;
  • Renewable energy sources;
  • Dissemination of results

OBJECTIVES AND FIELDS OF EXPERTISE

Integrated Energy and Environmental Planning

  • Feasibility studies and energyenvironmental plans
  • Development of information and communication campaigns on the rational use of energy and sustainable mobility
  • Organizing environmental education programmes for schools.

Rational Use of Energy

  • Development of a campaign for inspection and maintenance of heating systems in accordance with Local Authorities
  • Review and optimisation of energy supply contracts
  • Energy auditing and labelling of buildings
  • Technical Training for innovative professional figures (Energy Manager, Mobility Manager, etc.)
  • Development and Management of campaigns for vehicle emissions control ("Bollino Blu")
  • Design and technical support in plans aimed at introducing low impact fleets (electric, methane, etc.).

Renewable Energy Sources

  • Planning of renewable sources plants (solar, wind energy, biomass, etc.)
  • Assisting regional and provincial Administrations in promoting calls for proposals for obtaining financial support for solar thermal and photovoltaic plants.
